  • 3 ripe tomatoes, finely diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place it cut-side up on the baking sheet.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar; mix well.
  4. Brush the cut sides of the baguette lightly with olive oil and toast in the oven for about 5–7 minutes until just starting to brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and spoon the tomato mixture evenly over each half.
  6. Bake again for an additional 8–10 minutes until the tomatoes are softened and edges are golden.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before slicing into pieces. Serve warm.
