Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 12 teaspoons milk (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
  3. In another bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined—some lumps are fine.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool on a rack before glazing with a mixture of powdered sugar and maple syrup.
