Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ⅙ teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 8×4-inch loaf pans and set them aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and ground ginger.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together the pumpkin puree, eggs, melted butter, vegetable oil, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in three parts, stirring just until combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared loaf pans. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool the loaves for about 10 minutes before removing them from their pans.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground allspice, and ground cloves for the glaze.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over warm pumpkin bread before serving.
