  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix flour with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss in cubed chicken until well coated.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  3. In a saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and smoked paprika; simmer until slightly thickened.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions and bell peppers until softened; add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Stir in diced tomatoes and chicken broth; season with oregano and basil.
  6. Add the seared chicken back into the skillet along with the hot honey sauce; simmer together for a few minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve garnished with fresh parsley.
