Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 tsp loose leaf Earl Grey tea)
  • 1 cup water
  • 45 fresh cherries (pitted and halved)
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 12 tsp vanilla syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Optional: 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, simmer the halved cherries with 2 tablespoons of water over low heat until softened (about 3-5 minutes). Gently mash to release juices.
  2. Boil 1 cup of water and steep the Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag or strain loose leaves.
  3. Add warmed milk to the saucepan with cherries and heat gently, stirring occasionally. If desired, add a cinnamon stick for flavor.
  4. Stir in the vanilla syrup to sweeten your mixture.
  5. Pour brewed tea into a mug and strain the cherry-milk mixture over it, pressing on the cherries to extract juice.
  6. Serve hot or pour over ice for an iced version.
