  • 1 1/2 c warm milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp white sugar
  • 3 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c white sugar
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • 8 tbsp butter
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 c heavy cream
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 c pecans, chopped
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. In a stand mixer, mix flour, salt, and sugar. Add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  3. Gradually add softened butter while kneading until well combined.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball, cover it, and let rise until doubled in size (about 30 minutes).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread melted butter over it.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar, white sugar, and cinnamon evenly on top.
  7. Roll up tightly from one end to another; cut into desired sizes.
  8. Prepare caramel sauce by heating butter, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, and salt in a saucepan.
  9. Pour caramel sauce into a greased baking pan; sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  10. Arrange cut rolls in the pan and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
